The founder of one of the largest real estate company in the country purchased a spec house on the beach of Bridgehampton in the mid 70’s.
Thirty five years later he decided to refresh the open kitchen before selling the house for a larger one.
Marco was inspired by the surrounding nature and color and by the Asian sensibility that the client developed doing meditation.
Marco was one of the very first designer ever to use large size bamboo panel when they became available as well as introducing acrylic panels that sandwiches beach grass taken from the property.
Cast concrete, rice paper and Montauk slate enhanced the Zen contrast almost bringing it to a Wabi Sabi style.
The project was so successful that Marco was hired to design the client’s new summer house in Sagaponac.
