A 2,500 sq.ft. spec house built in the 1980’s is about to be completely transformed into a light-filled, 5,000 sq. ft. residence, with a natural shingle exterior.
The expanded Living area with mostly glass walls overlooking the back-garden will open to a pergola-roofed deck with retractable protection, a fire pit and brick pizza oven. The expanded open style chefs Kitchen will be a punch color with a glass backsplash overlooking the swimming pool. The newly built Dining Room will have generous seating for 14 and a wet bar, completely surrounded by large-scale windows.
A new Master Suite with cathedral wood-beamed ceilings will be added to the second floor. The existing un-used Attic will be connected to the expanded second floor by a large staircase to become the home office with French doors leading to the observation deck looking onto the property’s nature reserve.
A set of schematic drawings were prepared for the client with the sole intent of capturing the aesthetic of the project.
